I have prepared a room in my home to be used specifically for the purpose of homeschooling my grandchildren. (I have already successfully graduated my own 3 children from homeschooling.)

A Note to New Homeschoolers or New Readers of My Blog:

I hope you will read my earlier posts from June and July 2011, through to the present, as a sort of "catching up". You will find that I have addressed issues regarding public schooling that many folks would rather ignore or avoid. My hope is that I will be able to convince Christian parents to remove their children from the harmful influences and consequences of the public schools and educate their children themselves.

My earlier posts also highlight the many advantages of homeschooling.

2011 Our Christmas Holiday Tree...

From cardstock, cut out your favorite snowflake shape. Glue on pics of you and your family. Accent with glitter glue. Simple!

Star (or Snowflake) Ornament

Made from wooden craft sticks (popsicle sticks), glitter glue, and sequins. A silver-colored metal button is in the middle.

2011 Making Christmas ornaments...

So simple to make. Chenille stems and Foam beads. My grandson enjoyed this activity very much. Teaches eye/hand coordination.

Foam Beads & Chenille Stems make great Christmas ornaments!

A simple & inexpensive art project. I found these foam beads at a dollar store for cheap! Chenille stems from Walmart.

Printed on card stock, and glittler glue.

2011 Clay Replica of My Grandson's Hand (finished)

Getting a head start on those homemade Christmas ornaments.

Clay Star Ornament

So simple: press a ball of clay flat, slightly press a star shaped cookie cutter into the wet clay, press the tines of a fork around the edge, use a pencil to make a hole for the string, let dry and paint.

Angel Ornament...

So simple to make! Copy your favorite angel shape onto card stock paper from the internet or use a stencil. Cut out, punch a hole at top, apply glitter glue and let dry. My little grandson loved decorating this one!

This book contains free printable pages from the internet depicting tree planting, deciduous and evergreen trees, fruit and palm trees, logs and their use, etc.

This self-made book teaches phonics, science, math/shapes (triangle & rectangle), and art.

My grandson received this fantastic educational toy for Christmas...

DR. DRILL & FILL. For a child who loves both Playdoh and Tools, it was the perfect gift!

Mr. Man must see the dentist...His teeth are giving him fits!

Mr. Man hasn't been brushing his teeth...Obviously!

We began homeschooling in July, 2011 when he was 2 yrs. 9 mo. old. We started early to give him something to do. He is a very active little boy!

A close-up view of a live (bumble?) bee...

I found this big, fat, fuzzy bee lying on its back, almost lifeless, one cold morning. Put it in a zip storage bag and brought it in for my grandson to examine. After about 10 minutes or so in a warm house, the bee revived and began buzzing around in the bag. An awesome science lesson!
